Aliens or time travellers could be behind a series of mysterious UFO sightings by US military pilots, according to Brit astronaut Tim Peake.
NASA has formed a team of space boffins to probe 143 unexplained objects spotted since 2004.
Tim, 50, who performed the first spacewalk outside the International Space Station by a Brit in 2016, said he did not believe the mysterious craft could have been made by any human living on Earth today as the technology does not exist to have triggered their bizarre movements.
He said they could either have been sent by an alien civilisation or humans who have developed time travel and returned back from the future.

US Navy pilots recorded videos of the Unexplained Aerial Phenomena – or UAPs – making incredible manoeuvres at impossible speeds.
The sightings so baffled military experts and scientists they triggered a US Congressional hearing.
Tim told Good Morning Britain he did not know what the craft were but he was sure they were not the work of any state nation or non-state organisation.
He said: “I think it’s interesting that the US Government has made this public. There’s been a hearing in Congress. Of course there weren’t many answers to the questions because that’s the whole point of the phenomena – it’s still very much unexplained.
“But I think it’s a good thing there are discussions being had and that this information is being made available.’’
He said humans do not have the technology’to have created the objects.
“I don’t think it’s a development of any state nation or non-state organisation at all,’’ he said. “I think when you see the video footage it’s quite remarkable. It does seem extraordinary as to what these machines are capable of.
“There is no explanation for it. There are several theories about could it be something that has been developed in a classified programme.
“But then why would this information be being made public if that were the case? Is it some sort of uncrewed robotic type object from another civilisation?
“I heard one theory where a pilot was talking about that potentially in the future they’ve developed time travel. Is it something that’s come back from the future?

“So there are all these theories going around about what they could be, but ultimately we do not know.’’
Nasa said its investigation team will examine all available data in a bid to advance scientific understanding of the sightings.
A spokesman for the space agency said while there was no evidence the sightings were “extraterrestrial in origin” it accepted unidentified phenomena in the atmosphere are of interest for both “national security and air safety”.
“Establishing which events are natural provides a key first step to identifying or mitigating such phenomena, which aligns with one of Nasa’s goals to ensure the safety of aircraft,’’ they added.
