Longtime Back garden Town resident George Efthimiou handed away peacefully Jan. 10 at the age of 92. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 yrs, Carol devoted youngsters Alexis Probasco (Scott), Thomas Efthimiou (Elizabeth) and Greg Efthimiou (Mary) grandchildren William Probasco (Laura), Walker Probasco, Kathryn Probasco, Christopher Efthimiou, Thomas James Efthimiou, Jack Efthimiou, Charles Efthimiou and Anna Efthimiou and adoring brother, Rev. Milton Efthimiou.
George was born in Paris in 1928 to the Rev. Basil and Mrs. Helen Efthimiou. His relatives moved to New York a few a long time later on, and then to Boston right up until 1942, when they returned to New York. George graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn at 19 and attained his M.B.A. from the Harvard Company Faculty in 1952. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for two a long time right before beginning a profession in maritime significant devices product sales, ultimately owning and functioning GMG Devices, Inc., afterwards alongside his son Tom.
George fulfilled Carol at a Back garden Town Lodge cotillion in the course of the drop of 1958 and they wed at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral on June 28, 1959.
