Ohio Hilton Openings and a New Illinois Hotel

Two new Hilton properties joined downtown Toledo, Ohio under one roof in April. The Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton are conveniently situated downtown with the city’s business district to one side and the Warehouse Entertainment District to the other. The properties are an easy walk event hubs like Huntington Center, Fifth Third Field, Promenade Park, Imagination Station science museum and dozens of other restaurants and bars. Detroit Metro Airport is just 45 minutes from the door of the complex.

The project includes Napa Kitchen + Bar, a new ground-level full-service restaurant, as well as the more casual gastropub, Café 419.

Hilton Garden Inn Toledo Downtown features 217 guest rooms, including a Presidential Suite. The 1,000-square-foot Presidential Suite duplex sits atop the Hilton Garden Inn Toledo Downtown, boasting two-story floor-to-ceiling windows and three balconies where guests can enjoy a panorama view of the Maumee River and Downtown Toledo.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Toledo Downtown offers 93 additional suites each of which includes a full kitchen, sitting area and up to two full private bed and bathrooms. More than 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space is onsite, including a 5,503-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate up to 475 guests. Seven additional meeting rooms and breakout spaces, along with being adjacent to the newly renovated Glass City Center, is set to make the complex a key event and convention hotel in the region. 

Both properties offer free WiFi, 24/7 fitness center, pet-friendly rooms, room service, a business center and all non-smoking guest rooms. Homewood Suites’ guests also enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast and Wednesday evening social with cocktails and heavy hors d’ oeuvres. www.hilton.com 


avid hotel Chicago O’Hare – Des Plaines, from IHG Hotels & Resorts, opened in May three miles from O’Hare International Airport—one of the world’s busiest airports and in one the country’s most popular meeting markets. It’s the first avid hotel in the state of Illinois.

The hotel has 99 guest rooms built with a purposeful design to reduce noise. Other hotel amenities include free WiFi, free breakfast with grab-and-go options, a fitness center and pool.  

The hotel sits directly across from the Allstate Arena and is just minutes away, the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont Entertainment District, Parkway Bank Park, The Fashion Outlets and Rivers Casino Des Plaines.

The hotel opening follows two recent avid hotel openings, including avid hotel Detroit-Warren in February and avid hotel Ocala in Florida in April. Since launching in 2018, the brand has opened 53 properties in North America and more than 150 in the pipeline. www.ihg.com
