Washington universities discourage spring break vacation as pandemic proceeds
Leaders at UW and WSU strongly discourage “nonessential vacation” this time amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
SEATTLE — The College of Washington sent a letter to college students in early March that “nonessential vacation is even now strongly discouraged” with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This applies to Spring Split, which is scheduled at UW this week.
“I received a several email messages about ‘don’t maintain any significant parties,’ everything like that, so we just check out to be home and remain safe and sound,” explained UW graduate college student George Huang.
A several blocks away from UW’s Seattle campus, University Presbyterian Church welcomed spring with a tulip generate, which also serves as a fundraiser for families with small children fighting a significant illness.
